Unable to enter Device IP or UEL
-
Trying Episode 1: Temperature reader
- Determined the local IP (Windows desktop)
- Opened GUI-O application on Samsung tablet
- Entered Connections->Ethernet->Add new device
- Entered a device name
- Unable to enter IP????
- Entered a device port in the range
The following image shows the new device screen
Is this normal? and if yes, how should the IP be entered?
(Repeated the same sequence with the same result several times)
I was able to successfully implement the Temperature reader by starting at Step 1.
Cheers

@SteveV Hi!
You mean you cannot enter IP address due to not having any period ('.') character available?
This is not normal. Can you try changing the keyboard from Android settings and see if the issue persists?
I am "forcing" the number keyboard when user touches the IP field... In most cases, the keyboard also shows other characters. Anyway, I will fix this ASAP - I have a release lined up right now. I will probably take a day or two...
Best regards,

Hi Klemen,
Yes, because there is no period character in the on-screen keyboard.
Not sure what you mean by -
'Can you try changing the keyboard from Android settings and see if the issue persists?'
This was on my Windows desktop.
Anyway, I hope the upcoming release will fix the problem.
Cheers,

@SteveV Correction! The on-screen keyboard was on my Samsung tablet (not my Windows desktop)!!

@SteveV Hi!
The new version of GUI-O app (v1.0.73) is being reviewed by Google. It should be available (at the latest) tomorrow.
Please let me know if the problem is fixed for you.
Best regards,

@kl3m3n
The new release (1.0.73) fixed the problem with the wrong? keyboard on my Samsung tablet.
I was then able to connect to GUI-O Live Design, and downloaded the TemperatureReader.gdp. All appears to work, although I am struggling to do anything different with the Designer in these early stage
Good job - thanks.
Cheers
